the bog question: AMD or intel?
what do you shoose when you build a computer? an AMD or an intel?
I would like to know what you guys think of it.
I personally prefare intel for hes high game support, good speed in creating new processors, stuff for your money and good overheat safety.
AMD is cheaper yes but it has a reason: they can't concurate whit intel so they lower the price of there products.
and they just given up there AMD quad because they can't get cheaper then intel whit this one.
result = they will get behind and stuck in financial problems.
what do you guys think intel or AMD?

I prefer Intel, for no real reason. I've just used them all my life and feel more comfortable with them.

I don't like AMD because it didn't have an installed DOS command. I forgot what it is.
But uh, all I ever buy is AMD. For like no reason. So.

AMDs own. Actually I just got my first AMD since it was cheapest, then when I was assembling a gaming rig the computer shop ran out of intel processors so I went with AMD. I've always been happy with them. AMD processors run a lot cooler.

In our office we have two 8 core and 3 Quad-core and 5 new imac, all of them with Quadro card. The imacs have 2.8GHz Core 2.
Both Pro and imac can dual boot OSX and xp/vista, thanks to the newest version of bootcamp.

AMD - better cooling techniques, power preserving, better performance due to a better construction.
Oh and they seem more stable as well, although the current dual cores are slightly disappointing, temperature wise.
Still, AMD all the way

Been an intel guy since my K6, which didn't really do that well in Quake...
Also, Intel's on top performancewise, and AMD's in trouble. Pretty obvious whose CPU you should buy these days.

AMD
Much better quality, and superior for gaming.

AMD if I'm not going for really high end. Intel if I am.
Intel has a faster processor, but AMD is just better at multitasking.
And AMD's suck at overclocking.

As of this point in time, with the Core2Duo's, Core2Extreme's and Core2Quad's, buying an AMD would be a waste of money. They Intel out perform them in everything, so you really wouldn't be getting value for money. Also, due to the fact that the Core2 series are quite cheap, AMD really can't compete.
Furthermore, when Intel bring out their new GPU's and 8+ core processors in January 2008, AMD will be owned.
